On to my post!
I was stumbling around the internets the other week and I came across this mesmerizing site called Japanese Streets.
The site contains pictures of real Harajuku street fashion.
In case you are wondering what that means, here is the 411 from Wikipedia.
Harajuku is the common name for the area around Harajuku Station on the Yamanote Line in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo, Japan. Harajuku is also a fashion capital of the world, renowned for its unique street fashion. Many prominent designers and fashion ideas have sprung from Harajuku and incorporated themselves into other fashions throughout the world.
Here are some samples of some of the hip young girls featured.
Cool right? Well flash forward to earlier in the week. I work from home so I wear whatever I grab out of my closet and don't ever pay any attention to what it looks like. Now that the mornings are becoming chilly, I have to layer myself. On Tuesday I passed a mirror and saw my reflection. What did I see???????
Holy crap! An unintentional ensemble that looks like I stepped off the streets of Japan (in spite of the fact that I am probably 2 x the size of a Japanese girl).
HAHA! This was not staged. I often find myself dressed in crazy outfits and I will forget and go check my mail or Murphy will get out and I have to go look for him and I will inevitably run in to one of my neighbors. To make me seem like an even bigger whack job, since I was alone on this particular day, I thought about asking a neighbor to take a picture of my ensem. But I regained my senses and figured out how to use the self-timer on the camera. GO ME!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!
