I have always thought that a Murphy bed looks a little strange, but it is def. what we needed. And I have been wanting one for a long ass time. Of course I looked at buying a new one but they sell for over $1000. Stupid. And then I thought that Matt could build one (he can pretty much make/build/fix anything) but the damn kits are over $400 for just the hardware and that is not even including the wood. Seriously. For a couple of pistons and screws??? Retarded.
Okay. Here it is. Don't tell me if you think it is ugly. It is the function I am after. You see, I do not have a spare guest room due to me turning a spare bedroom into my closet. This was not a problem when Chase was away at school but now that he is living here it means we have no extra space. And yeah, I have a pull out sofa in the living room, but those are so damn uncomfortable I feel bad if someone wants to stay over.
Now I shut up.
Here it is.
Do I look like a normal wall? Did I fool you with the picture hanging on the front?
Okay maybe not.
But the wood tone kind of blends with the weird walls in my office.
(and pretend like I painted the back of the door please)
See the fountain in the powder room?
That is there in case a client has to pee-- I wont have to hear it : )
Just thought I would share that.
These thingymajigs lock the wall in place and also pop out as legs.
Kinda ghetto, but whatever.
Here is the wall transformed into bed.
Murphy on the Murphy.
Another view of Murphy on the Murphy.
While we are on the subject-- this is where Murphy spends most of his time during the day.
(Any excuse to talk about my little love muffin)
I know I need to work on the space, but I am just so excited to have a spare bed.
Even if it is in my office.
That is just a drawback of working from home.
The best benefit?
My commute.
Honey, I am home.
Okay guests. I am ready. Make your reservations now.
