Hail and Farewell Blake Edwards (1922-2010)

Blake Edwards, 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' director, dead at 88
Blake Edwards, a prolific filmmaker who kept alive the tradition of slapstick comedy in his Pink Panther franchise and nimbly showcased his dramatic range with "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Days of Wine and Roses," died Dec. 15 of pneumonia at a hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 88. more.

One of my favorite scenes: The final scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's when Audrey Hepburn puts cat out of the taxi in the pouring rain then has a change of heart and goes looking for him.

"We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me."
