So, apparently I won/ was nominated for the Stylish Blogger award because Sue at FairviewSue won it and passed it on to me. Thank you Sue.
The award is really a meme because it comes with directions.
Basically you link back to whoever nominated you, list seven things about yourself, and nominate and contact 5 others.
Seven things about me:
1. I'm from and live in Central New Jersey about 30 miles south of New York City with my 91 y/o Dad in the house I grew up in. I moved back home when my Mom became terminally ill and he needed help with her. I kind of have to watch out for Dad now and have become a caregiver for him
2. In 2004 I suffered an Aortic Dissection/Aneurysm which is almost always fatal. The actor comedian John Ritter died from this while he was working on the set a few years ago. Recovery from this was a long and slow process especially learning to walk well again. A blood clot lodged in my groin which effectively paralyzed my right leg until it was repaired but this has left me plagued both my legs with claudication.
Part II: In 2007 after a routine CAT scan I was told by my Cardiologist to get to the ER quickly when it was determined I was in danger of suffering another aneurysm and had to undergo emergency surgery to repair the aorta again. My chances for a full recovery was given at 50%. Waking up in an ICU with a respirator and chest tubes coming out of your chest is quite the reality check.
3. I have an older Brother, a younger Sister and a younger Brother. I was the second one born out of four.
4. I've worked for two major pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in the production/processing of drugs including Radioisotopes, ointments, creams, liquids, tablets and capsulating. Two large major hospitals; Grady Memorial in Atlanta Georgia and Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus Ohio as a Pharmacy Technician.
5. I've had 3 long term relationships. Two of whom have since passed away from HIV/AIDS. I had lived with my last partner when he died in 1991 in the house we both renovated and lived together in Atlanta GA. Since then I've remained single.
6. I love animals. Probably more than people. The unconditional love given to me by my beloved pets have given me more happiness and purpose than I could ever imagine. They have also been there in rough times too which is more than I can say for most people.
7. I'm currently battling the Social Security Administration to collect disability due to the fact I'm no long able to work.
...... and now I nervously hit the orange publish post button!
