So this what we discovered a few weeks ago.
This is right outside our front door on top of the patio light.
And while you would think that a soon-to-be mama robin building a nest on your front porch would be a pretty sure sign that spring had arrived-- just two days after I took that picture, I awoke to this nonsense.
I took this shot from my phone while lying in bed on Saturday May 21, 2011. Ugh. I was so worried about soon-to-be mama robin.
She camped out.
And she guarded her new little dwelling.
And, the next week I discovered this . . .
And finally, on June 2, 2011 (Matt's birthday btw), we came home to this. I knew something was up when I saw mama sitting on her nest backwards.
They don't have feathers quite yet, but they made it. hooray! Mama and Papa Robin take turns feeding their babies regurgitated worms all day long.
It is so fun to watch : )
Matt helped them out on Saturday by leaving a small container of night crawlers left over from our fishing trip in front of the nest. (haha dork)
Maybe I can get some picture of the four little ones as they learn to fly. Momma Robin is pretty accustomed our routines (and our three dogs) and she doesn't even fly away when we go in and out anymore.
That is all I have to report from the treehouse.
